If you've found this page, you are one of the closest friends I have. You already know my moods can be dark and deep at times. One of the ways I strike out at these dark moods is to put things down on paper (or screen as the case may be). I find a lot of times after I think I can't go any farther, if I sit down and think a little bit and let some of those thoughts slip from my mind to my fingers and onto the keyboard, I actually feel a lot better. Please come on in, look around and see what you think. Don't hesitate to
email me, or ICQ me @ UIN#1992709 and let me know what you think, or if there's anything special you'd like to see me try.
I want to start off with some song lyrics. As you know by now, if you know me at all, music has always been a big part of my life. To me there isn't a better way to express feelings than through music. Sometimes it's the lyrics that mean so much, and other times it's just the sound of the music itself. I like some music from almost all categories. Yeah, I know it's strange but there's a little riff the bass player does in a song by Motley Crue that does the same thing to me inside a full orchestra does when the William Tell Overture is in full swing. Even Glen Miller can spark a goose bump or two.
I guess if I had to single out one person or group I preferred over all the rest, it would have to be Lynyrd Skynyrd. Many have tried and a few have come close but, none have equalled the sound of the dual lead guitars crying out in
Tuesday's Gone
. There is no equal to the way Ronnie Van Zant could bring chills to my skin when he sang the words to Freebird at the Fabulous Fox Theater in Atlanta. What would he have come up with next if fate hadn't snatched him from the music lovers with a plane crash?
This is a song that I feel pretty much sums up my life. It was written by Greg Allman and done by the Allman Brothers, but Molly Hatchett re-did it and made it a wonderful song to listen to. Take a minute and read these words please.
